The Hagar Foundation - Healing from Human Trafficking

"When healing happens, the cycle of trauma stops."

About Hagar

The Hebrew name Hagar means “one who flees” or “one who seeks refuge.” Hagar was founded in 1994 and has been supporting women and children healing from the trauma of gender-based violence and human trafficking.

Why The Hagar Foundation?

Hagar provides individualised care for every trafficking survivor they come into contact with, which is over 170,000 people to date. They have trained thousands of community members in Cambodia, Vietnam and Afghanistan on domestic abuse and trafficking awareness.

With 25 years of experience, Hagar is an internationally renowned leader in recovery services for survivors of human trafficking, slavery and abuse. We hope our contributions to Hagar will help women and individuals healing from the trauma of trafficking and slavery around the world.
